I’m Caroline.
I have been in love with photography for ages. My first camera was a bright blue point-and-shoot when I turned 10 years old—the best part was it could take photos underwater. On my thirteenth birthday, I was gifted my first DSLR—a Canon Rebel T-7i. The detachable lens and ability to shoot in manual mode terrified yet captivated me.
What transformed my love for photography from just another hobby into my job was my family’s move to Northern Uganda. The move was initiated by my parents’ work with International Justice Mission, an amazing organization that works to fight modern-day slavery all over the world. In Uganda, my father worked with IJM fighting for widow’s land rights and to stop the deeply-rooted issue of domestic violence.
While my father doing incredible work, I was asked by a fellow ex-pat family to take their family photos. It was there that I fell in love with family photography. Throughout the rest of my year in Uganda, I photographed families, engagements, parties and everything in between. When my family moved back to Nashville, I decided to formally launch the business and pursue my dream.
I will soon be transitioning to becoming a full time as a photographer in Nashville, having spent the past four years in Memphis as a student at Rhodes College. I majored in English Literature, and while I love a good book, I couldn’t ignore this constant desire to pursue photography. It is truly the best job in the world. I would be beyond honored to capture any bit of life you feel is important.
